Jim Elford. Chief Operating Officer
Jim has 33 years experience in the insurance industry. He joined Herchmer Insurance in 1980 following a career as Chief Underwriter with a major Canadian insurance company. Jim handles the general manager duties as well as commercial and farm insurance.

Sandra Spetifore, CAIB, Commercial and Personal Lines Specialist
Sandra has 16 years experience in the insurance industry. She joined Herchmer Insurance in 1993. Sandra handles personal lines, farm and commercial insurance, auto and hard to place risks.

Candace Sommerfeld, CAIB, Commercial and Farm Specialist
Candy has 30 years experience in the insurance industry. She started as a broker in Saskatchewan in 1973. She also worked with SGI as a Senior Claims Clerk. She joined Herchmer Insurance in 1993. Candy handles all types of insurance including commercial, farm, personal lines, auto, special and hard to place risks.

Doug Vance, CAIB, Commercial Specialist
Doug comes to Herchmer Insurance with a broad background in business and sales. In 2004 he acquired his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Independent Broker) designation with Honors. He especially enjoys combining his insurance knowledge and past business experience to help you with your commercial insurance needs.

Teresa Polzin, General Insurance Salesperson
Teresa joined Herchmer Insurance in 1991. She manages the Accounting Department. She handles ICBC and private auto, and is one of our Medical Travel Insurance Specialists.

Amanda Johnston, General Insurance Salesperson
Amanda joined Herchmer Insurance March 2005. She is one of our ICBC specialists and is going through the insurance licensing process.

Charlene Everitt, Customer Service Representative
Charlene grew up in Creston, worked for Creston Credit Union for 5 years and has now joined Herchmer Insurance Agencies. She is currently going through the insurance licensing process.

Bernice Ducharme, Customer Service Representative
Bernice joined Herchmer Insurance in 2007. She specializes in Auto Insurance and Motor Vehicle Registration with over 6 years experience in that area.

Sue Watson, C.I.P.
Sue comes to Herchmer with an extensive insurance background both from the Agency side and as an underwriter for some national insurers. Sue has a Chartered Insurance Professional designation and handles all classes of insurance.

Shawna Sinclair, General Insurance Salesperson
Shawna moved to Creston and joined the Herchmer team in 2001. She handles ICBC, personal lines, and is one of our travel medical specialists.

Sharon Summers, Claims and Personal Insurance Broker
Sharon started at SGI Claims in 1986. She moved to BC and worked for ICBC Claims, then started with Herchmer Insurance in 2001. She has her CAIB 3 Designation. She enjoys helping customers with their claims, plus personal lines and auto insurance business.

Jackie Vlachos, General Insurance Salesperson
Jackie has 6 years experience in the insurance industry. She started in Cranbrook as a Customer Service Representative handling ICBC, travel medical and a variety of Personal Lines transactions. Jackie moved to Creston and joined the Herchmer team in 2004. She is one of our ICBC specialists; she also handles private auto, billing and invoicing.
